Bullet Journaling is all the rage these days.  Search Google, Amazon, or Pinterest, and you will find all kinds of books, pages, and ideas to help you keep up with the essential things in your life.  There are some fantastic journal ideas available for Witches.  Where is a Witch to begin?

Why Journal if I Have a Book of Shadows?

A Book of Shadows is where you keep your most precious spells, rituals, correspondences, and personal redes as a Witch.  Journaling is a place to keep up with your journey as a Witch.  Looking back over a journal after a period time provides insights into your growth as a Witch or areas where you are stuck and need to find some inspiration.

Should You Choose Digital or Analog?

Some journaling may be better suited to digital (online journals or merely notes you take in a word processor), than analog (good old paper and pen!).  With a digital journal, you can take notes, add pictures, and link to websites with information.  Pen and paper journaling is better suited for your thoughts on happenings in your charmed journey.

Need A Little Inspiration?

Are you needing inspiration for what to journal?  Maybe some of these ideas will get your creative juices flowing!

Magical People You Meet on Your Journey—Keep a running list of people you meet on your magickal journey, how you met, and what they taught you.

Celebration Calendar—Keep up with the small celebrations and victories of each day.  Did you watch the sunset, or spend time with a loved one?  Take time to savor the experience a bit longer by writing yourself a quick reminder of the time you enjoyed.  Be sure to write down any seasonal celebrations you kept and what you did to acknowledge the cyclical nature of life.

Inspirational Sayings—Preserve the sayings of others which speak to your soul as a Witch.

Moon Phases—Make a calendar and note the moon phase at least every few days.  Take notes over your emotions to see if there are any connections.

Crystal Collections—List the crystals you have or want to have in your collection and what each one’s use is.  Don’t always trust what websites and books say about certain crystals. Sometimes stones speak to you in unusual ways.

Books You Read—Keep a list of the Witchcraft and Pagan books you want to read and mark them off your list as you complete each one.

Newsletters—Create a journal page of the newsletters from your favorite witches to which you subscribe.  Leave space for jotting down a great idea they shared.

Gardening Info— Make drawings of garden plots and where you planted your herbs and veggies.  Keep up with which ones do well and which ones may need a new place to hang out.

Herbs—Write down the herbs you use and how you used them.  If you used them in a spell, jot down how the spell manifested itself.  Note anything you noticed when working with each herb.

Dreams—Many people believe one can find meaning in one’s dreams.  Writing down your dreams just as you awake each morning may give you some insight as to things that are bothering you.  It could be that your dreams are reminding you to laugh and be happy.  By journaling your dreams, you will have a better idea of what they are saying to you?

The things you could journal are as varied as the Witches who keep them.  The point is that keeping a running journal of things happening in your life helps you to slow down and take note of the little things happening without letting those pass you by.

What are you journaling about?  What changes has journaling brought to your life? I would love to hear your comments!

Until we meet again,
